Queen of the Nile

Hair: Kanekalon hair in the color #8, took 7 hours to do. By the way these turquoise beads are the Egyptian Scarab, which is why I am feeling very Egyptian regal with this hair. Also, with gold beads and gold clasps. I have had these in for a week and a half and I am soooo ready to take them down, but not without taking really nice photos highlighting them. Outfit: Ma Birthday suit ;) Makeup: My go to look with my liquid lipstick from Beauty Bakerie in the color "Mon Cheri" Photography: Yes, yes, these photos are risqué. I wanted to create something to really show the highlights on my skin, and look like I just came out a body of water. Hence, the water droplets on my arm. I put some shea butter and coconut oil on my skin followed by splashing water on myself to create droplets. This is in my bathtub by the way. With my 10 second timer, I was able to get in the tub and pose very easily all under 10 seconds. Photo Editing: Didn't do a thing!

Ṣàngó

⚡️Ṣàngó: Orisha God of thunder and lightening. Ṣàngó is both a deified ancestor and a natural force. Oral tradition describes him as powerful, with a voice like thunder and a mouth that spewed fire when he spoke. Ṣàngó is viewed as the most powerful and feared of the orisha pantheon. He casts a "thundersone" to earth, which creates thunder and lightning, to anyone who offends him. In Yorubaland, Ṣàngó is worshiped on the fifth day of the week. The Oyo Empire declined in the 19th century which led to the enslavement of Fulani and Fon people. Ṣàngó’s thunderous energy became a symbol of the resistance of the Yoruba people during the 19th Century when many Yoruba people were taken from Africa to the Americas as slaves. African slaves and their descendants were able to reestablish Shango’s worship. Cleopatra Comin 'Atcha

In honor of the first day of Black History Month. I decided to turn myself into Cleopatra. There are many debates on whether she was truly an Egyptian Queen or whether she was just a Macedonian woman who ruled. Whatever the case. I am making her black today. I took this picture topless. Yes, topless. Because I do not own this breast piece. I also do not own this necklace. I applied my makeup which consisted of exaggerated black liner, with gold highlight and eyeshadow, and of course a red lip (MAC-Ruby Woo.) I am protective styling, so my hair was already in two-strand twists. I have gold duck bill clips that I put in my hair. I applied a tikka sticker as well as a tiki headpiece. I am wearing my Gold choker and my gold arm cuff. In Photoshop, I applied the purple shadow that you see on my eyelid, I do not have purple eyeshadow. Purple is my favorite color, as well as the color for the month of February. Amethyst is the birth stone. Also, I am born February 26, and I am a Pisces.
